Nettle and Oatmeal Soap

£6.20

We made Nettle & Oatmeal soap more than twenty years ago and it was always a firm favourite with customers.

This soap offers a pleasant, effective exfoliating texture which also helps to moisturise skin. It is all-natural, hand-made and contains:

Nettle – collected locally, nettle is anti-inflammatory, astringent, anti-bacterial, healing, mildly deodorant and stimulating.

Oatmeal – effective at moisturising, cleansing and exfoliating the skin.

Lavender oil – evens the skin tone, reduces acne and can help to reduce wrinkles.

We love nettles! We collect young nettle tops locally, early in the spring, just taking the top six or so leaves and drying them so that we can use them throughout the year.

This soap is excellent for treating eczema and other itchy skin conditions and can be used as a natural deep cleanser, especially useful for oily skin.

Nettle (Urtica dioica) is a fantastic herb with many uses – including food, clothing and skincare products. They are so under-used by us. This fantastic wild herb has natural astringent properties, which are great for treating skin complaints such as greasy, dry, itchy and inflamed skin.

Oatmeal (Avena sativa) has been documented for its use in skincare as far back as 2000 BC as it contains saponins which have intense cleansing properties. The oatmeal is produced at Y Felin (Welsh for ‘The Mill’), at St Dogmaels, one of the last working water mills in Wales. It contains both anti-inflammatory and antioxidant properties and is ideal for sensitive skin, helping to relieve itchy and uncomfortable conditions. Studies have revealed that the beta glucan contained in rolled oats can control bacterial infections in the body.
